What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function correctly, remember your preferences, and understand how you use it.
Cookies We Use
Essential (Required)
These are necessary for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ch_token | Authentication session (localStorage) | Until logout |
ch_visitor_id, ch_first_touch | First-party analytics (localStorage) | 12 months |
| Locale preference | Remembers your language choice (EN/DE/FR) | Persistent |
Analytics (Optional)
We use our own privacy-friendly analytics to understand how Alpintel is used — for example which public company pages are visited and whether visitors try the search. This uses two identifiers stored in your browser's localStorage: ch_visitor_id (a random identifier, not linked to your identity unless you create an account) and ch_first_touch (the first page you visited). No third-party analytics services are used, no data is shared with anyone, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not store IP addresses with analytics events. Raw analytics events are deleted after 12 months.
What We Do Not Use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Third-party tracking pixels
- Social media tracking cookies
- Cross-site tracking of any kind
Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent the platform from functioning correctly. Since we only use essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the service, no consent banner is required under Swiss law (nDSG) or the ePrivacy Directive for these cookies.
